all rear view mirrors so you don't have to lean back and forth to use them
What are the equipment requirements for windshields and side windows?
Safety glass, cannot be treated by any material that makes the windshield reflective or non-transparent. Free of any stickers not required by law. Side windows must reflect more than 25% of light
What are bumper height requirements? Are they the same for every vehicle?
Drivers must have their car bumper heights regulated at certain levels in relation to net shipping weight of vehicle. Different for all vehicles
What must you do if hauling a load of material which could fall or blow onto the roadway?
Must use a close-fitting cover
When a projected load extends more than 4 feet from the vehicle, what must you use to clearly mark it in the daytime? At night?
Day time: must use red flags at least 18 square in. that marks extremeties of the load.
Night time: 2 red lamps on back of load (seen from 500ft to the rear), two red reflectors on rear that can be seen from 100-600 ft when directly in front of low-beams, and one red lamp on each side of load, visible 500ft to show max overhang of load.
Why is drowsy driving dangerous?
slow down thoughts & reaction time, affect judgment and vision, impair senses and abilities,nodding off or falling asleep
What should you do if another driver is threatning you or intentionally driving dangerously around you?
put as much distance between you and him/her as possible, slow down and let them pass

You may pass the line to change lanes when its safe to do so.

2 way traffic, cannot be crossed unless turning left when its safe to do so.

Cannot be crossed, ever.
What does a solid yellow line to the right of the center line of the highway mean?
Passing/crossing not allowed unless turningleft
What do the colors red, orange, yellow, etc of traffic signs indicate?
Red means stop, orange means construction or maintenance ahead, yellow means general warning, advisory of certain conditions up ahead
When more than one vehicle approaches a four-way stop sign, which one moves first?
The vehicle who arrived first. If they came at the same time, the driver on the right goes first

Red traffic light means stop. Come to full stop at stop line. Flashing red mains dangerous intersection, treat it as a stop sign
After a full stop at a red traffic light, when may a driver turn right?
When there are no cars coming, and when a NO TURN ON RED sign is NOT there.
What does a green arrow showing at the same time as a red traffic light mean you can do?
Must be in proper lane to make that turn.
What does a flashing yellow light mean?
Used at or just before dangerous intersections, Proceed with caution. Warning to show school crossing or sudden turn

Stop and let the train pass, before 15 ft but within 50ft

When emergency braking, what is the difference between conventional breaks and anto-lock brakes?
Conventional brakes apply continuous pressure that can lock your wheels, causing the car to skid and lose steering control. In contrast, Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) automatically pulse the brakes up to 20 times per second
What should you do during a tire blowout?
Firmly grip the steering wheel with both hands, ease your foot off the gas to slow down naturally, and steer straight.
What must you do if you are involved in a minor accident and your vehicle is blocking the flow of traffic?
attempt to move the car out of the roadway immediately to a safe location if it is operational and can be done safely.
If you hit a parked car and unable to find the owner, what should you do?

What are the penalties if you are at fault in a crash and you are not insured in compliance with the Financial Responsibility Law?
If you do not provide proof of higher coverage limits, your driver license and/or license plates will be
suspended for up to three years.
In addition, if you are the driveror the owner of a vehicle involved in a crash that is your fault, DHSMV can require you to pay for the damages before your driving privilege is reinstated.
What are the time restrictions for a driver with a learner's license?
After holding a learner's license for 3 months you may drive until 10 pm.
What are the time restrictions for a licensed driver under 17? Under 18?
A 16 year-old licensed driver may not drive between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am unless driving to or from work or accompanied by a licensed driver who is age 21 or older.
A 17 year-old licensed driver may not drive between 1:00 am and 5:00 am, unless driving to or from work or accompanied by a licensed driver who is age 21 or older.
What can you be charged with for driving under the influence?
if you are found to be driving or in actual physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, prescriptions, or over- the-counter medications.
-your license will be administratively suspended if you have a breath or blood alcohol level (BAL) of .08 or above, or refuse to submit to a breath/blood alcohol test.
Any driver under 21 years of age who is stopped by law enforcement and has a BAL of .02 or higher will automatically have their driving privilege suspended for six months.
What are the penalties for refusing to take a blood/urine/breath test when suspected of driving under the influence?
By law, you have agreed by signing your driver license to take these tests if asked. If you refuse
to take the tests when asked, your license will automaticallybe suspended for one year.
