What can you use to test a printer?
Print or scan a test page using built-in Windows functionality. Use diagnostic tools included in the web-based utilities built into the printer.
Lines down the printed page
Usually caused by ink residue. If inkjet printer, clean print heads manually or with automatic process. If laser printer, check for scratched drum.
Faded prints, blank pages
Low toner or ink, ink-saving setting, or something wrong with the transfer process.
Double/echo images or speckling
Laser printer optical drum not cleaned properly, causing ghost image from previous drum rotation. May occur due to broken cleaning blade or bad erasure lamp, try replacing toner cartridge or erasure lamp.
