Catalyst
Is a substance that increases the rate of speed of a chemical reaction by lowering the activation energy.
Activation Energy
Is the minimum amount of energy needed by atoms and/or molecules to reach a state where they can undergo a chemical reaction.
Enzyme
Are biological catalysts, protein molecules that increase the rate of a chemical reaction in cells. nWithout enzymes, many life sustaining chemical rx would not occur and cells would die. THWY also lower the activation energy.
Active Site
Region on the enzyme created when enzyme folds are producing pockets and grooves, in a territory protein level or 3-D. these pockets and grooves form a shape of the active site where the substrate binds to the enzyme to undergo a reaction.
