Inputs/outputs - LDS
using sunlight, 18 ADP and Pi join together to create 18ATP
ATP is a coenzyme that is needed by the LIS
12 H2O molecules and 12 NADP+ molecules are joined together to make 12 NADPH molecules
Don’t need oxygen, so 6 molecules of O (from H2O) get outputted
light breaks the binds btwn. water to make 24H and 12O
Inputs/outputs - LIS
18 ATP + 12 NADPH + 6CO2 molcules are the inputs of LIS
6 H2O are the outputs
Process of LDP
inside the thylakoid, ATP synthase turns 18ADP and Pi into 18ATP
half of H+ molecules join to create NADPH
other half moves down its concentration gradient to generate ATP
ATP to ADP
Phosphate gets broken off ATP (to make ADP + Pi). This generates a small amount of energy
ATP = charged form, ADP = uncharged form
NADPH to NADP+
NADPH formed in light-dependent reaction donates hydrogen ions and electrons
NADPH = charged form, NADP = uncharged form
