Atrial depolarization
The electrical activation of the atria, leading to contraction.
PR segment
The period between atrial depolarization and ventricular depolarization, representing the AV nodal delay.
QRS complex
The portion of an ECG that represents ventricular depolarization.
ST Segment
The period that indicates when the ventricles contract and empty.
T wave
The wave on the ECG that represents ventricular repolarization.
TP interval
The time interval during which the ventricles are relaxing and filling with blood.
Normal duration of QRS complex
Typically lasts around 0.08 seconds (or 80 milliseconds).
Small square on ECG paper
Represents 0.04 seconds (or 40 milliseconds).
