what can we learn from data?
Numbers can convey meaningful info when placed into context and data is all arounds us. being able to comprehend data will help us.
Variable
A characteristic that changes from one individual to another. Something you can record. We collect data on a variable from individuals.
Two types of variables
Categorical variable and Quantitative variable
Categorical variable
Puts into groups or categories (not numbers.) Ex. Eye color, blue, brown, and green
Quantitative variable
a variable that represents a numerical value you can measure or do math with. Ex. Height in cm, 165 cm, 170, cm, 190 cm.
Frequency Table
A list of diff categories someone (or something) could have picked and the diff counts of how many ppl fell into each category.
Relative Frequency
Turns the counts of frequency table into decimals and percentage.
