What is Newton’s first Law?
“An object will stay at rest or moving in a straight line until acted upon by an external unbalanced force.“
What is Newton’s second Law?
“The acceleration of a system is directly proportional to and in the same direction as the net (total) external force acting on the system, and inversely proportional to the mess.“
What is Newton’s third Law?
“If object A exerts a force on object B, then object B will exert and equal but opposite force on object A.“
What is a Vector?
Something measured in Magnitude and Direction
What is a Scalar?
Something measured in Magnitude
What is Acceleration?
The change in velocity over time
What is Velocity?
A vector quantity describing the rate and direction of an object’s motion
What is Friction?
A force that opposes motion
What is Terminal Velocity?
When the forces acting upon an object move balance out and said object is no longer accelerating
What is Freefall?
When an object falling only has 2 forces acting on it, weight and drag (air resistance)
How do you calculate an unbalanced force?
F = ma (Newton’s second law)
