What does paraphrasing involve according to the notes?
Paraphrasing is a literal translation of someone else's words into your own, translating all nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs while changing the sentence structure.
What should not be translated when paraphrasing?
Coordinating conjunctions (but, or, yet, so, for, and, nor), prepositions, and articles (a, an, the) should not be translated.
Why is it important to cite your paraphrase?
You must cite your paraphrase because you are still using the original writer’s thoughts.
When should you paraphrase instead of quoting?
You should paraphrase if it makes the ideas clearer for your audience; if not, you should quote the original text.
Provide a paraphrase example of the sentence 'The cow jumped over the moon.'
'Above the lunar body bounded the bovine.'
What is the expectation for the length of a paraphrase compared to the original source?
Your paraphrase will be as long as, if not longer than, your original source.
