What is the function of the respiratory system?
The organ system that is made up of the nose, mouth, tracea, bronchi, lungs, The organ system responsable for taking in oxygen and removing carbon dioxide from the body.
In what part of the system does oxygenated blood travel and what part does deoxygenated blood travel?
Oxygenated blood travels in the arteries (except the pulmonary artery) and goes from the lungs to the body.
Deoxygenated blood travels in the veins (except the pulmonary vein) and goes from the body to the lungs.
Breathing: what happens to the diaphragm and rib cage during inhalation/exhalation?
When the muscles and diaphram relax, they move in and air is pushed out. When the muscles and diaphragm contract, they move out and air is pulled into the lungs.
What is tuberculosis
It is caused by bacteria that enter your body when you breathe. The bacteria grow in your lungs, although the disease can spread to other parts of your body, including your nervous system and your bones. TB has fairly general symptoms: fever, cough, weight loss, tiredness, and chest pain. If untreated, the disease can be fatal. A chest X-ray is one of the tests used to diagnose TB
