Microsoft Office
Refers to Microsoft’s entire suite of office productivity applications. Microsoft Excel is one of the many applications that are grouped under “this” umbrella such as MS Word, Ms Powerpoint, Ms Outlook, Ms Teams, MS OneNote, MS Sharepoint, Ms Sway, Ms Forms, etc., and is supported in Windows and Mac operating system
Office 365
Is a service where you pat a monthly subscription fee (around 10$ a month). One benefit to using Office 365 is that software updates are free (for example, if a new version of Microsoft Excel comes out, you can upgrade that to the new version)

Is a word processing tool for creating different types of documents that are used in work and school environments

Quick Access Toolbar
This is located above the ribbon and contains command that users access most often. By default, the Save, Undo, and Repeat commands display when you launch Word 2016
Save Button

Undo/Repeat

This command is located on the File tab in backstage. There you find the printing options, including printer properties and settings.

This gives you an opportunity to see what your printed document will look, so you can correct errors before printing

Outline View
Displays the document as an outline and offers an Outlining tab with commands for creating and editing outlines
Draft View
Is strictly for editing text. Advanced elements as charts, graphs, pictures, and other objects are hidden in this view
Zoom
Group of commands that lets you ___ in to get a closer view of a page or zoom out to see more of the document at a smaller size. These commands also enable you to determine how many document pages Word displays on a single screen.
Object Zoom in Read Mode
Enables you to zoom in on objects such as tables, charts, or images while in Read Mode
New Window
This button opens a new window displaying the current document; this window shows the document name in the title bar followed by number 2
Arrange all
This button displays two or more windows on the screen at the same time. This is useful when comparing documents or when using information from multiple documents
Split command
This command divides one document window into two windows that scroll independently. This enables you to view two parts of a single document
View Side by Side
This button enables you to view two documents next to each other. When are viewing documents side by side, you can use Synchronous Scrolling command to link the scrolling of two documents so that you move through both at the same time
Reset Window Position
This button is used with the the View Side by Side button. When viewing two documents side by side, This button will position both documents equally on the screen
Switch Windows
This button enables you to select which document will be the active document (the document that is ready for editing)
Clipboard
Stores the items for you and paste in another location of the document or another office file
Cut text
Word removes it from the original location and places the text in the Clipboard collection.
Copy text
Word places a duplicate copy in the clipboard

This command pastes text from the clipboard to a new location in either the original document or a new document

Contains command for changing the appearance o text. Characters can use a specific font, font size, text color, text highlight, and shadow/glow

Indent
A blank space between text left or right margin
First-line Indent
Inserts blank space between the left margin and the first line of the paragraph
Hanging Indent
Common in legal documents and bibliography pages, begin the first full line of text in a paragraph.

Line Spacing
Is the amount of space between the lines of text in a paragraph
