the layer of the atmosphere that is above the troposphere; as the altitude increases, the temperature increases

the lowest layer of the atmosphere; as the altitude increases the temperature decreases

the layer of atmosphere where ozone absorbs utraviolet solar radiation

mesosphere

Meteors burn up in this layer of the atmosphere, shooting stars, temperature decreases, 60-80 km

Thermosphere

Satellites orbit earth in this layer, space shuttles, aurora borealis, temperature increases with height, absorbs x-rays

Troposphere

The Inner layer or lowest layer, earth's weather occurs here Tropo=changing or turning, 0-16 km , layer heated by infared radiation from earth

stratosphere

2nd layer of atmoshere , contains the OZONE layer \n Strato=second \n Protects earth from ultraviolet radiation,16-60 km, absorbs uv-b and uv-c

exosphere

The outer layer of the thermosphere, extending outward into space.

A horizon

Top layer of soil that is made up of living and decomposed materials like leaves, plants, and bugs. This layer is very thin and is usually pretty dark.

c horizon

This layer is made up of slightly unbroken rock and only a little bit of organic material is found here. Plant roots are not found in this layer.
