1. take the part and place it in a glass box

2. take all the features of the part → projecting them onto the glass box → get drawing views

3. unfold the glass box:

   • place the front view in the centre

   • top view above the front view

   • bottom view below the front view

   • right side view on the right of the front view

   • left side view on the left side of the front view

   • rear view can be anywhere beside any view drawings

what are the steps to an orthographic drawing

1. know the proportions of the object

2. the squares on the paper are proportional to the proportions of the object

what are the steps to a circle drawing on orthographic paper

1. the size of the bounding box should be the same as the diameter

2. draw construction lines to get points around the box

3. connect the points together

4. do not erase the construction lines
