What is rational truth and how is it known?
Rational truth is truth arrived at by means of reason. It is classified as Apriori, meaning it can be known before some relevant experience.
What is empirical truth and how is it known?
Empirical truth is truth arrived at by means of sense of experience. It is classified as Aposteriori, meaning it can be known after some relevant experience.
What characterizes synthetic truth?
Synthetic truth extends our knowledge and is also considered an empirical truth.
How is analytic truth defined in relation to knowledge?
Analytic truth does not extend our knowledge and is also considered a rational truth.
What is the definition of a contingent truth?
A contingent truth is a truth that is not true in all possible situations; it is also an empirical truth.
What defines a necessary truth?
A necessary truth is true in all possible situations and is also considered a rational truth.
How is public truth characterized?
Public truth is, in principle, known by everyone; it is considered both a rational and empirical truth.
