Rewarded first class honor after a shot grazed him in the Battle of Cowshed. One of the rebellions valuable leaders who created the idea of the windmill until Napoleon chased him out of the farm. Used as the reason for everything bad happening on Animal Farm.

Napoleon

Stalin

Led the rebellion against Mr. Jones. After Snowball is chased off the farm, he takes over the farm and became Animal Farms dictator.

Squealer

Manipulates the animals thoughts by twisting the reality of events (spreading propaganda)

Boxer

Unskilled Labor Class

“I will work harder” + “Napoleon is always rigtht”

A dedicated horse who helped build the windmill but was sent to a glue boiler once he got too old

Mollie

Skilled Middle Class

prefers having ribbons and candy rather than aiding in the rebellion. Lured out of the farm with promises of a comfortable life.

Benjamin

a pessimistic donkey who kills the animals enthusiasm

Clover 

a motherly horse who silently questions some of Napoleons decisions and tries to help Boxer.

Moses

the raven owned by Mr. Jones who tells the animal of a place called Sugarcandy Mountain where they go to when they die.

Mr. Jones

the often drunk owner of Animal Farm who the animals rebel over.

Mr. Whymper

someone hired by Napoleon who acts as a link between Animal Farm with neighboring farms to trade.

Mr. Pilkington

sells land to Napoleon in the end of the book and later cheers to his success at the end of the book.

Mr. Frederick

an enemy of Pilkington, owner of a neighboring farm. Swindles Napoleon by buying timber from him but then giving him counterfeit money. Tries to attack and take over Animal Farm but fails.
