Font

A set of characters that have the same design.

Font size

The height of characters in units called points

Font color

The color of characters in a font set.

Bold

a print enhancement used to make characters appear darker than other text to add emphasis

Italic

A text style that makes text slanted.

Underline

A text style that puts a line under text.

Strikethrough

put a line through text, as if "crossing out"

Clear All Formatting

Remove all formatting from the selection, leaving only the normal, unformatted text.

Increase Font Size

Button on Home tab that increases font size with each click

decrease font size

use this icon to make your text smaller in point size

Superscript

Text that is reduced in size and raised to the top of the current line.

Subscript

Text written slightly reduced and below and to the right of the current line.

Change Case

Which command on the Home Ribbon allows a user to change the case of selected text to all uppercase, lowercase, sentence case, toggle case, or capitalize each word?

Numbering

in a word processing document, you can number each item in a list of ordered steps

Proofing

Allows you to customize how Word corrects and formats your text.

AutoCorrect Options

Options within Microsoft Office that let you modify what is automatically corrected as you type.

Show/Hide

A function that will show paragraph marks and other hidden formatting symbols, the "invisibles."
