comprehensive evaluation process, that looks at an applicant's entire profile (experiences, attributes, and academic metrics (GPA/scores) as a whole rather than focusing solely on numbers to understand their potential and fit for an institution
Brag Sheet
tool shared with teachers/counselors to write letters of recommendations needed for college applications they highlight who you are outside of school and include your interests
Letter of Recommendation
a letter or endorsement from a "third party" (teacher, counselor, administrator) that highlights your character, skills, and potential that goes beyond the students grades and how you would fit inot the specific college
Personal Statement
a narrative essay for college/grad school applications that is all about you (experiences, goals, values, why you feel you are a good fit, authentic, story telling

Class Rigor
the level fo challenge and academic intensity of a course encompassing the depth and compleixty of the material covered, expectations for student performance and workload required
Class Rank
mathematical summary of a students academic recored compalred to those of other students in the same class usually considers both the degree of difficulty of the courses and the grade the student earns
Automatic Admission/Assured Admission
a policy that some colleges/univeristites have in place that guarantee acceptance for applicants who meet specific academic criteria such as minimum GPA, class rank and/or standardized test scores

an extremely selective university where a student's academic profile (GPA, test scores) is significantly below the average for admitted students, making admission highly unlikely but still a dream school they want to try for
