where + when
who you watched it with

I watched this movie just last weekend at home on an online streaming platform. I’d heard so many good things about this movie, so I thought, why not?

My sister joined me since she’s also into romantic dramas.

what it was about

The movie tells a really touching love story that follows two characters from their teenage years into adulthood. Basically, it’s about how they grow up, fall in love, and face the challenges that come with life and relationships.

From their color palette, i felt a strong sense of nostalgia running through the whole movie.

explain why you watched

Honestly, I think I enjoyed this movie so much because the storyline was emotional and deep, which really pulled me in.

The acting was so heartfelt, and the setting in Vietnam made everything feel more real and relatable.

Watching it with my sister made the experience even better because we shared the same reactions.

What kind of movies do you think are successful in your country?

In my country, a variety of movie genres are doing well, especially those that resonate with the local culture and values tend to dominate the box office .

  • For instance, dramas that touch on current social issues or have historical base also tend to attract a lot of viewers

  • And of course, action films or romantic comedies with a moral lesson at the end always can find their audience, as they provide a light-hearted escape with a happy ending

What are the factors that make a successful movie?

I think a successful film rests on three pillars: a compelling storyline, acting performances, and effective marketing.

  • Even the most visually stunning film will fall flat if the plot lacks emotional depth.

  • At the same time, star power and social media buzz can give a movie initial heat at the box office

  • while the acting of characters is what truly make or break a film

So when all these elements come together, they set the stage for a successful movie.

Do Vietnamese people prefer to watch domestic movies or foreign movies?

It varies, people choose based on quality and relevance rather than origin alone.

  • Many people support domestic films, particularly during major holidays, when these films are heavily promoted. These films often resonate culturally and linguistically with audiences.

  • However, foreign movies — especially Hollywood blockbusters — still attract viewers, who value high production quality and global storytelling styles.

Do you think only well-known directors can create the best movies?

Not necessarily.

While established directors often have more resources and a profound understanding of storytelling, creativity isn’t exclusive to them.

In fact, some of the most groundbreaking films have come from unknown faces who bring fresh perspectives to movie industry.

— So reputation can be an advantage, but it’s certainly not a must for excellence.

Do you think successful movie should have well-known actors or actresses in leading roles?

Not necessarily, but having well-known actors can definitely help in early stages.

Star power can generate media attention even before a film is released. This is understandable as big names can draw huge crowds and their fan base often guarantees a certain level of box office success.

However, In some cases, lesser-known actors are better suited to a role because they allow the audience to focus on the character rather than the celebrity persona.

Why do people prefer to watch movies in the cinema?

You know, there's something special about watching a movie in the cinema that you just can't replicate at home.

  • Firstly, big screens and the powerful sound system make the whole experience way more immersive.

  • There's also the vibe of the audience; sharing reactions with a crowd can really amplify the enjoyment.

  • Plus, heading to the cinema can be a fun outing—it’s a chance to step out, grab some popcorn, and escape into another world for a few hours.
