gram positive rod, causes leprosy/Hansen’s disease, affecting skin, peripheral nerves, and mucous membrane

most studied gram positive rod, survives in soil and has the ability to form endospores and can survive harsh condiions

B. anthracis

gram positive rod, also forms endospores but causes anthrax, spread through contaminated animals and spores, lead to skin, lung, and gastrointestinal infections

S. aureus

gram positive cocci, opportunistic pathogen, found in skin.nose causes skin infections, pneumonia, and food poisoning, wound infections

a lot of aerobes, found in soil and create antibiotics
