● The length test = OPPOSITE ACTIONS OF THE TARGET MUSCLE LIKE YOU’RE STRETCHING THE MUSCLE

● Maintain the end position of the first join manipulated and then move onto the next joint
Stiff vs. Short
If muscle MOVES and SHIFTS = stiff
If muscle is STUCK/NO CHANGE = short
Compare bilaterally
“Best for last”
when testing proximal v. distal ends, the last portion you move is going to be what you are testing

Normal = 2 inches or less
