Pre-conventional morality
Kohlberg's first major level of moral development, where children (ages 2-7) are egocentric and accept authority.
Conventional morality
Kohlberg's second level of moral development, where children (ages 7-12) conform to societal expectations and rules.
Post-conventional morality
Kohlberg's final level of moral development, characterized by individual rights and universal principles.
Sensorimotor stage
Piaget's first stage of cognitive development (0-2 years) where children explore the world through their senses and are self-centered.
Preoperational stage
Piaget's second stage of cognitive development (2-7 years) where children view the world from their own perspective and are egocentric.
Concrete operational stage
Piaget's third stage (7-12 years) where children begin to see things as right or wrong and view adults as authoritative.
Formal operational stage
Piaget's final cognitive stage (12 years and up) where individuals develop abstract thinking and understand complex ideas.
Self-Actualization
A state of self-fulfillment and realization of potential.
Esteem Needs
The need to develop a sense of self-worth and recognition.
Love and Belongingness
The need to obtain and give affection, as well as to form connections with others.
Physiological Needs
Basic physical requirements such as water, food, sleep, and sex.
Safety Needs
The need for a safe and secure environment.
