Magnetism
A physical phenomenon produced by the motion of electric charge, resulting in attractive and repulsive forces between objects.
Compass
A navigational instrument that uses a magnetic needle to align with Earth's magnetic field, indicating direction.
Magnetic Field
The area around a magnet where its magnetic force is exerted.
Magnetic Poles
The points on a magnet where the magnetic field is strongest (North and South).
Magnetic Attraction and Repulsion
Similar magnetic poles repel each other, while opposite poles attract each other.
Electric Generator
A device that uses magnets and a coil to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy.
Electric Motor
A device that uses electrical energy and magnets to create motion, often through a coil situated between two magnets that drives an axle.
Natural Magnets
Magnets that are made from naturally magnetic materials.
Electromagnets
Temporary magnets that require electricity to function.
Electric Generator Conversion
Converts kinetic energy to electric energy.
Electrical Motor Conversion
Converts electric energy to kinetic energy.
Electromagnet Usage
Uses electrical energy to generate magnetic force
Magnetism
Force from moving electric charge.
