Face validity
Does it pass the intuition test?
Ecological validity:
The extent to which the measure generalizes to the real world and natural settings, not just in a lab
Predictive validity:
How the measure predicts later important elements
Internal validity:
How a measure consistent precedes and predicts the effect it ought to cause
Convergent validity:
How well the measure relates to an established method of measuring the construct (shown by a strong relationship between the scores obtained from two different methods of measuring the same construct
Divergent validity:
How distinct the measure is from an established method of measuring something else
Construct validity:
Demonstrated when scores obtained from a measurement behave exactly the same as the variable itself
Concurrent validity:
When scores obtained from a new measure are directly elated to scores obtained from a more established measure of the same variable
