what is stress?
the bodys physical, mental, and emotional response to a stressor that helps the body adapt to challenging situations

what are the effects of stress on the body, good or bad?
the body releases chemicals into the blood and the hypothalamus signals the adrenal glands to release a surge of hormones (usually adrenaline + cortisol) resulting in enhanced focus, quicker reaction time, increased heart rate, increased energy, and increased strength
effects of chronic stress
upset stomach, headaches, sleep issues, heart disease, depression, anxiety, sometimes memory loss
what is the recommendation for exercise max benefits?
2.5 hrs of moderate/intense physical activity each week or 1.25 hours of intense/vigorous physical activity each week
