What is a set?
A collection of objects.
What are the members of a set?
The specific objects within a set.
What is a Venn diagram?
A diagram that uses circles to represent sets.
What is the set of countries with a larger land area than the United States?

What is the set of natural numbers greater than 5?
{6, 7, 8, …}
What does it mean for set A to be a subset of set B?
When all members of A are also members of B.
What does it mean for set A to be disjoint from set B?
When the two sets have no members in common.
What does it mean for sets A and B to be overlapping sets?
When the two sets share some of the same members.
In a Venn diagram of Democrats and Republicans, what does the region outside both circles represent?
People who are registered for other political parties, are independent, or are not registered.
In the proposition 'all whales are mammals', what are the subject and predicate sets?
The set whales is the subject set and the set mammals is the predicate set.

How is human blood classified based on the presence or absence of A, B, and Rh antigens?
Blood containing only A is called type A, only B is called type B, both A and B is called type AB, and neither A nor B is called type O. The presence or absence of Rh is indicated by adding the word positive (present) or negative (absent).
