Frontal

Mandible

Lower jaw bone, the only movable skull bone.

Foramen magnum

Big hole in the skull where the spinal cord connects.

Neck bones; there are 7 total.

Joints that fuse skull bones together, immovable.

True ribs

Ribs 1-7 that are directly attached to the sternum.

Clavicle

Collarbone, part of the pectoral girdle.

Pelvic girdle

Structure that includes the ilium, ischium, and pubis.

Synarthroses

Immovable joints, such as skull sutures.

Dorsiflexion

Lifting the foot up toward the shin.

Adduction

Moving a limb toward the body's midline.

Abduction

Moving a limb away from the body's midline.

Optic Canal

Hole in the skull for the optic nerve.

Auditory ossicles

Tiny ear bones that help with hearing.

Spinous process

Bumpy part of the vertebrae felt along the spine.
