Sensory register
A temporary memory store for the massive amount of sensory information such as sights sounds smells tastes and touch that enters the brain from the environment
Short term memory
the system that temporarily holds and processes small amounts of information for a brief period, usually around 15 to 30 seconds.
Long term memory
the system that stores information over extended periods ranging from hours to a lifetime allowing for the retention of knowledge experiences and skills
Multi store model
a theory of memory that suggests memory consists of three separate stores sensory memory short term memory and long term memory information passes sequentially from one store to the next through processes like attention and rehearsal
Maintenance rehearsal
the process of repeatedly practicing or reviewing information to keep it in short term memory or to help transfer it into long term memory
