Subatomic Particles
Particles smaller than an atom, including protons, neutrons, and electrons.
Atom
The smallest particle of an element that retains the chemical properties of that element.
Element
A substance made up of only one type of atom.
Proton
A subatomic particle found in the nucleus of an atom with a positive electric charge.
Neutron
A subatomic particle found in the nucleus of an atom with no electric charge (neutral).
Electron
A subatomic particle orbiting the nucleus of an atom with a negative electric charge.
Nucleus
The central part of an atom, containing protons and neutrons, where most of the atom's mass is located.
