Ativan / lorazepam

Lorazepam is used to treat anxiety disorders and seizure disorders. It is also used for short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety or anxiety caused by depression. Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination.

Benzodiazepines

Benzodiazepines are central nervous system (CNS) depressants, which are medicines that slow down the nervous system. Benzodiazepines are GABA agonists. They are used to treat anxiety disorders and help to sedate patients before surgical procedures.

klonopin / clonazepam

klonopin is a benzodiazepine drug that's used to treat: Seizures, Epilepsy, Panic disorder, Anxiety disorders, and Hyperekplexia.  Klonopin is a long-acting and high-potency benzodiazepine. It has a longer half-life than other benzodiazepine drugs, such as Xanax, which makes it a good choice for long-term treatment. Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination.

Valium / Diazepam

Diazepam acts by binding to the benzodiazepine site on the GABAA receptor to enhance the affinity of channel opening by the agonist GABA , which leads to central nervous system depression. Used to treat anxiety disorders, muscle spasms, and seizure disorders. Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination.

Xanax / alprazolam

A benzodiazepine with antianxiety and sedative-hypnotic actions. It is used to treat Panic Disorder and Anxiety Disorders. Alprazolam acts by binding to the benzodiazepine derivatives site on the GABA _A receptor to enhance the affinity of channel opening by the agonist gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA), which leads to central nervous system depression.
