Artifact

something made, any human-made item or object

Process

Purpose/Function

how an artifact or artwork is meant to be used

Art Form

a kind of artwork, such as, a painting, drawing, sculpture, textile, photograph, building, or graphic design

Medium

the specific materials of which an artifact/artwork is made of EX: oil on a canvas

Craftsmanship

the skill with which an artifact/artwork is made

Form

how an artwork is composed using elements of design

Representational Art

artworks that render figures, objects, or scenes, as they appear in the observable world or as they might appear in the imagined world, allowing for varying degrees of accuracy and/or distortion

Figurative Art

artworks that represent the human form

Nonrepresentational Art

Artworks that use colors, textures, shapes, and brushstrokes, rather than representations of the observable world. Also called nonobjective art.

Subject Matter

the representation of people, animals, plants, places, and things dedicated in representational art… or the shapes, colors, brushstrokes, and other visual elements in nonrepresentational art
