Web Analytics

Domain Name
A human-readable address used to access websites on the internet.
Registrar
A company that manages the reservation of domain names.
Server
A computer system that provides data or services to other computers over a network.
IP Address
A unique string of numbers separated by periods that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate.
DNS
Domain Name System; the system that translates human-readable domain names to IP addresses.
SSL Certificate
A digital certificate that provides authentication for a website and enables an encrypted connection.
Content Management System (CMS)
Software that helps users create, manage, and modify content on a website without the need for specialized technical knowledge.
Payment Gateway
An e-commerce application service that authorizes credit card payments for online businesses.
Conversion Rate
The percentage of visitors to a website that complete a desired goal or conversion.
Traffic Sources
The origins of visitors to a website, including direct, referral, organic, paid, and email traffic.
Primary Website Objectives
The main goals a website is designed to achieve, such as earning revenue or providing information.
HTTP
Hypertext Transfer Protocol; the foundation of data communication on the World Wide Web.
HTTPS
HTTP Secure; an extension of HTTP that provides a secure communication channel over the internet.
Merchant Account
A type of bank account that allows businesses to accept payments by debit or credit cards.
User Experience (UX)
The overall experience a visitor has when interacting with a website.

Buying and selling of goods or services using the internet.
Email Marketing
The use of email to send advertisements, request business, or solicit sales or donations.
