Hadith (Linguistic meaning)

The Surah and verse that provides the linguistic basis for Hadith meaning speech.
Hadith (Technical definition)
Anything attributed to the Prophet SAW including his words, actions, approvals, and characteristics.
al-qawl
The English term for Verbal Hadith (words/speech).
al-fi'l
The English term for Action-based Hadith (deeds).
al-taqrir
The English term for Approval-based Hadith (silent acknowledgement).
Sahih, Hasan, and Daif
The three main categories of Hadith reliability mentioned in the introduction.
siwak
A wooden toothbrush used by the Prophet SAW, representing an example of an action-based (al-fi'l) Hadith.
dhob
Lizard meat eaten by Khalid bin al-Walid in the presence of the Prophet SAW, serving as an example of approval-based (al-taqrir) Hadith.
Sifat Akhlak
The moral and ethical character traits of the Prophet SAW, such as Anas bin Malik's report of never being scolded during 10 years of service.
Sifat Tubuh Badan
The physical characteristics and bodily appearance of the Prophet SAW, including descriptions of his face, body, and height.
Surah al-Nisa, verse 80
The verse stating that whoever obeys the Messenger has effectively obeyed Allah.
Munkar
An English term defined as evil or wrong-doing, the prevention of which is covered in Topic 3.
Pendakwah
A preacher, whose roles and responsibilities in Islamic communication are discussed in Topic 3.
Ihsan
A concept of benevolence or excellence introduced in Topic 4 specifically towards animals (binatang).
Hadis Ahkam
A specific type of Hadith study introduced for the Form 6 Shariah syllabus relating to legal rulings.
