CRAAP Test

A framework for evaluating sources based on five key criteria: Currency, Relevancy, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose / Point of view.

Currency

A source evaluation criterion that checks when information was created or published, when it was last updated, whether it is up-to-date, and if links are active.

Relevancy

A source evaluation criterion that assesses whether the information answers your question and satisfies your topic.

Authority

A source evaluation criterion that checks who is responsible for the content, whether credentials are indicated, if contact information is available, and if the credentials can be verified.

Accuracy

A source evaluation criterion that checks if the information is supported by evidence, peer-reviewed (if required), free of spelling and grammar errors, and verifiable in another source.

Purpose / Point of view

A source evaluation criterion that examines the purpose of the source, its intended audience goal (P.E.E.S), and what the URL indicates about the site.

P.E.E.S

An acronym representing the four primary intended purposes of a source: Persuade, Entertain, Educate, or Sell.

Penguin video clip observations

Observations noting that penguins walk in groups and appeared to want to fly or take off somewhere because a couple of them jumped off the ice.
