ISAP (Intervention sociale d'aide à la personne)

A term introduced in 1996 by the Conseil supérieur du travail social to designate an intervention method formerly known as case work, individualized psychosocial aid, individual support, or aid to the person.

ISAP Definition (1998 Report)

A voluntary and interactive approach conducted by the social worker using participatory methods with the person requesting or accepting help, aiming to improve or transform their situation and environment relations.

Core Role of the Social Worker in ISAP

To provoke and encourage change by fostering user autonomy and drawing upon their individual potential and capabilities.

Relation d'aide (Mucchielli, 1991)

A professional relationship assisting an individual in making a personal adjustment to a difficult situation, requiring the helper to understand the problem from the individual's singular perspective and help them evolve toward better social adaptation.

Centration sur le client

A therapeutic concept developed by Carl Rogers focusing on supporting and accompanying the individual rather than merely assisting them.

ISAP (Intervention sociale d'aide à la personne)

Définition de l'ISAP (Rapport de 1998)

Démarche volontaire et interactive menée par le travailleur social qui met en œuvre des méthodes participatives avec la personne qui demande ou accepte son aide, dans l'objectif d'améliorer sa situation et ses rapports avec l'environnement.

Rôle principal du travailleur social dans l'ISAP

Provoquer et susciter le changement en favorisant l'autonomie de l'usager et en s'appuyant sur ses potentialités et ses capacités.

Relation d'aide (Mucchielli, 1991)

Relation professionnelle dans laquelle une personne doit être assistée pour opérer son ajustement personnel à une situation difficile, supposant que l'aidant comprenne le problème dans les termes où il se pose pour cet individu et l'aide à évoluer vers une meilleure adaptation sociale.
