Who is Kelvin Smith

Albert Kelvin Smith was a Case School of Applied Science graduate, successful industrial chemist, and longtime leader of Lubrizol who became one of Northeast Ohio’s most influential philanthropists. His generous support of Case Institute of Technology and higher education helped strengthen the university’s academic mission, and Kelvin Smith Library is named in recognition of his lasting impact on what is now Case Western Reserve University.
