Exchange reactions
Reactions where parts of different molecules trade places.
Reversible reactions
Reactions where products can become reactants, or reactants can become products.
Equilibrium
The balance of synthesis and decomposition reactants.
Metabolism
All of the chemical reactions in the body.
Enzymes
Proteins that help chemical reactions happen.
Activation energy
The amount of energy necessary for a reaction to begin.
Catalysts
Atoms or molecules that change the rate of a chemical reaction without being consumed or changed in the process.
Exergonic reactions
Reactions that release energy.
Endergonic reactions
Reactions that absorb energy.
Inorganic substances
Substances that are without carbon.
Inorganic sub nutrients
Essential elements and molecules gotten from the diet.
Metabolities
Substances made up or broken down by our bodies.
Organics
Substances that contain carbon.
Solutions
A mix of a solvent and a solute.
Ionization
Ionic bonds breaking and ions attached to polar water molecules.
PH
The measurement of the concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution.
