Communicative Competence
The ability to use language correctly and appropriately in different situations, involving grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to communicate effectively.
CEFR
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; an international standard used to measure a person's language proficiency.
B2 (Upper-Intermediate) Level
A proficiency level where a learner can communicate clearly and confidently on a wide range of topics, understand complex language, and participate in discussions with relatively few difficulties.
Personal Language Learning Plan Requirements
A plan that includes CEFR B2 goals and the required 80 instructional hours.
B2 Communication Skills
Speaking fluently with minimal hesitation and maintaining conversations on both familiar and unfamiliar topics.
B2 Language Use
Using a wider range of vocabulary and applying grammar accurately in most situations, even if occasional errors occur that do not affect understanding.
B2 Listening and Reading
The ability to understand the main ideas of complex texts and follow discussions, news reports, and classroom lectures.
B2 Writing Skills
The ability to produce organized essays, reports, and written responses that present ideas clearly with supporting details.
B2 Classroom Expectations
Students are expected to participate in discussions, deliver organized oral presentations, collaborate in groups, analyze academic articles, and answer higher-order thinking questions.

Enables clear expression of ideas, effectiveness in school and work, building relationships, developing critical thinking, and preparing for future careers.
