The Battle of Tannenberg
Fought between Germany and Russia. Russia had poor communication and security which led to Germany destroying the Russian army. Russia lost 250,000 men and war resources which led to their loss in this war.
The First Battle of the Marne
Germany vs. French and British forces. Governor of Paris pushed for a counterattack against the German flank to halt their advance on Paris. British and French were able to push Germans back. After the battle, each side suffered over 200,000 casualties and it was a victory for the Allied powers.
