Fradulent attempt to gain information, usuall done over email

Phishing, but targeted at specific individuals or groups

Phishing, but over telephone, includes voicemail as well

Business Email Compromise - uses legit email addresses to conduct scams

Making up a scenario to get info/perform action
What is watering hole attack?
An attacker compromises a website that their intended victims are likely to visit and uses it to infect or compromise those visitors.
What is typosquatting?
Using misspelled and slightly off urls
What is pharming?
Targets host file or DNS servers to redirect users to different website
What is password spraying attacks?
Type of brute force attack that uses single/small set of passwords against many accounts
What is dictionary attack?
Type of brute force attack that uses list of words for their attempts
