Place of perfection where God dwells

Hell

Eternal torment without God and where the devil rules

Purgatory

Roman Catholic belief in a place of waiting before sins are cleansed

Original Sin

The disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden

Salvation

Souls are saved from eternal death through the sacrifice of Jesus

Grace

Mercy shown to believers in Jesus that they do not deserve

Forgiveness

Pardoning wrong action

Atonement

Restoring relationship between heaven and earth – price for sin

Mass

Catholic service to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus with bread and wine

Theodicy

Defence of Christianity concerning the problem of evil

Liberal Christian

Believer who views the Bible as a metaphor and may believe God was the spark for the Big Bang

Conservative Christian

Believer who sees the Bible as largely true but potentially containing exaggerations, such as the word "day" meaning a phase of time

Fundamentalist Christian

Believer who holds the Bible as $100\%$ fact and without error, including creation in $6$ days

Universalists

Liberal Christians who believe a loving God would not send people to hell and that all will be saved

Golgotha

A place also called Skull Hill where Jesus was nailed to the cross

Inconsistent Triad

The philosophical problem arising from the belief that God is all-powerful, all-loving, and all-knowing while evil exists
