Stretch over time & they need to be tuned down after playing to maintain sound quality and pitch.

To Tune a Conga Drum

Finger-tighten the bolts until they zero out. Then, with a wrench tighten them all evenly

Set-Up to Play

1. Tilt the drum slightly away from you

2. The left leg should wrap around the drum

3. The right leg supports it

Open Tone

The hand is flat at the edge of the head

Muted Open

The hand slightly lingers on drum

Bass Tone

The hand is cupped in the middle of a drum

Slap

Relaxed hand at the edge & only your fingers hit the drum but do not drop your fingers
