concept of perfection to God
Perfection = nothing could be greater than God. God is perfect. God is the most perfect being that could exist. It is impossible for anything greater than God to exist.
22
New cards
concept of perfection and reality to God
Reality = perfection can be linked to reality in 2 ways:
1) what is perfect is more real than what is not (imprefctions = failing to exist in a better way)
2) perfection is self suffienent, independant. links with ultimate reality b/c it is not dependant on anything. therefore god is most perfect as ultimate reality is everything that exists.
23
New cards
concept of omniscience to god
god knows everything he knows directly. to perfectly know something the form must match the nature of the object. To know the thing as the particular thing is better knoweldge than general knowledge. (knowing each tree vs facts about trees in general)
everything that we know is a result of God
24
New cards
concept of omnipotence to God
power is the ablity to do things. God will have perfect power b/c he is omnipotent. we must not fall into contradtion of terms so God has power to do anything logically possible.
(limits of logically possible are not limits of his power)
25
New cards
concept of omnibenevlonce to God
2 ways to understand goodness.
1) perfection. God is perfectly good = God id perfectly perfect. God is perfect is all ways.
2) moral sense of good. what is perfect is morally good. God lives in accordance with moral values
26
New cards
concept of time to God
God is self sufficient, independant. If God depends on nothing else, then nothing can bring or end God existence = God has no beginning or end, as the concept of beginning or end only makes sense in time which God is outside of.
