Valvate bud
Opens town the middle
Imbricate bud

Flat smooth line with no interruptions on the edge of a leaf

Uneven/disrupted edges, more like a sawblade

Asymmetrical from tip to bottom, wider at base

Wider at the top, inverse of ovate

Protruding part of a leaf, commonly rounded with “sinuses” being the lower part of the dip

Has hairs

Small dots which are used for respiration

The ability to thrive with a lack of light
Form
Overall shape of a tree (ex: shrub, vertical)
