Lymphatic Vessels
Vessels that take off excess fluid and transport it back toward the heart and cardiovascular system, ensuring the fluid is clean before it returns.
White blood cells
Cells that comprise the immune system and reside in lymphatic structures which act as rooms or "hotels" for them.
Lymph nodes
Structures within the lymphatic system that attack pathogens that have entered the body.
Respiratory system
The system responsible for taking in oxygen (O2) and removing carbon dioxide (CO2) while maintaining acid-base balance.
Urinary system
The system that rids the body of metabolic waste from the blood, moving it through the kidneys and bladder and out of the urethra.
Fluid levels
A factor regulated by the urinary system that directly affects an individual's blood pressure.
Metabolic waste
The specific type of waste removed from the blood by the urinary system.
