1 (one)
vienas (masc) / viena (fem); agrees with noun gender.
2 (two)
du (masc) / dvi (fem); e.g., du vyrai, dvi knygos.
3 (three)
trys; e.g., trys vyrai, trys knygos.
4 (four)
keturi (masc) / keturios (fem); e.g., keturi vyrai, keturios knygos.
5 (five)
penki (masc) / penkios (fem); e.g., penki vyrai, penkios knygos.
Nouns after 2, 3, and 4
Countable nouns are used in a plural form (e.g., du namai, trys namai, keturi namai).
Nouns after 5 and higher numbers
The noun commonly takes genitive plural (e.g., dešimt obuolių).
dvi knygos
Two books (feminine noun).
du vyrai
Two men (masculine noun).
trys obuoliai
Three apples (plural).
penki obuoliai
Five apples.
dešimt obuolių
Ten apples (genitive plural after 10).
Behavior of 'one' (vienas / viena)
