Tissue

A group of cells with similar structure and function working together

e.g. muscle tissue can contract to bring about movement

Organs

A collection of tissues which work together to perform a specific function

e.g. the stomach contains muscle tissue, glandular tissue and epithelial tissue

Organ system

A group of organs which all work together to perform a specific functions. The organs in a system often depend on each other.

e.g. digestive system, the circulatory system and the gas and exchange system

Cell

Specialised to have a specific function or unspecialised as stem cells
