ALLOGENIC
Blood is donated by a volunteer donor for use by an unknown recipient.
Most common type of blood donation.
AUTOLOGOUS
A person donates blood for their own future use, usually before surgery.
APHERESIS
A specialized donation where specific components of the blood (like platelets, plasma, or white blood cells) are collected, and the rest is returned to the donor.
