Eyewitness Testimony
A legal term referring to an account given by people of an event they have witnessed.
Double Blind Procedures
Research methods where both the subject and the investigator are unaware of critical aspects of the study to eliminate bias.
Simultaneous Lineup
A lineup method where all suspects are presented to the witness at the same time.
Sequential Lineup
A lineup method where suspects are presented to the witness one at a time.
Signal Detection Theory

Correct ID Proportion
Rate at which witnesses correctly identify the guilty suspect in a lineup.
False ID Proportion
Rate at which witnesses incorrectly identify an innocent person as guilty.

Declarations by the witness regarding how sure they are about their identification.

A phenomenon where repeat imagining of an event leads to increased confidence in its accuracy.
