Precipitate

solid that forms when two solids are combined

two soluble reacts to create an insoluble product, usually appeare as fine particles

2
New cards

filtration

used filter paper to trap fine solid particles

3
New cards

decantation

involves pouring off the liquid from the solid that has settlee at the botton

New cards

residue

solid left behind after a physical process like evaporation

6
New cards

filtrate

the liquid collected after filtering a mixture to remove solid particles

7
New cards

precipitation

occurs when a precipitate forms rorm a liquid sol’n during a chemical reaction

8

New cards

chemical change

leads to chemical transformation and created new substance

New cards

atomic spectra

When an atom is heated, it absorbs energy causing the electron to jump to higher energy level. At this state the atom Is said to be unstable (excited state). When an electron goes back to its ground state (unexcited state), it radiates the absorbed energy in the form of light which has a characteristics wavelength. The color emitted is equal to the difference in energy on the excited state and the ground state.

△E = E2 – E1
