Cerebellum
A major structure of the hindbrain visible in the sagittal view of the sheep brain, involved in motor control.
Arbor Vitae
The branching, tree-like white matter structure located within the cerebellum.
Transverse Fissure
The deep groove that separates the cerebrum from the cerebellum in the sheep brain.
Pineal Body
A small endocrine gland located near the superior colliculus.
Superior Colliculus
A midbrain structure involved in visual reflexes, identified in the sagittal perspective.
Corpus Callosum
The large band of neural fibers connecting the two brain hemispheres, located superior to the fornix.
Fornix
A C-shaped bundle of nerve fibers in the brain that acts as a major output tract of the hippocampus.
Fourth Ventricle
The fluid-filled cavity located between the cerebellum and the pons/medulla oblongata.
Medulla Oblongata
The lowest part of the brainstem that connects the brain to the spinal cord.
Aqueduct
The canal (cerebral aqueduct) that connects the third and fourth ventricles.
Pons
A part of the brainstem located superior to the medulla oblongata and inferior to the midbrain.
Mammillary Body
A small, rounded structure on the ventral surface of the brain that is part of the limbic system.
Thalamus
The central relay station for sensory information, located in the middle of the brain.
Optic Chiasma
The X-shaped structure where the optic nerves cross, located on the ventral surface of the brain.
Lateral Ventricle
A fluid-filled space located within the cerebral hemispheres.
