An example of this issue is that, Westerners are generally using direct communication when expressing when expressing their ideas. They would, however, use idiomatic expressions or euphemisms when expressing indirect ideas.

On the other hand, Filipinos usually use indirect communication methods even ifthe situation calls for a direct form of communication. Filipinos, at times, are known for using flowery words, and that would often often beat around the bush when sending a message. This is part of our culture, but this scenario might cause problems when dealing with or communicating in a multi-cultural setting.

  • The correctness of feedback of the reciever in expressing his/her thoughts or responding to a message will be based on his/her fluency in the language of the sender.

  • If these conditions are not met. communication will be unsuccessful, which might lead to conflict and strained relationships.
